Sri Lanka High Commission in Canberra celebrates Eid

The Sri Lanka High Commission celebrated EID – UL – ADHA with the Sri Lankan Muslim community in Canberra, on Saturday, 31 July 2021 at the High Commission premises.

Eid, which is a sacred event, celebrated every year by Muslims all over the world was held this year at the High Commission as an outdoor event following COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Welcoming the gathering Actg.  High Commissioner wished a happy Eid to the community and highlighted the significance of this festival for peaceful coexistence among   all groups of people in a multicultural society.

On behalf of the Sri Lankan Muslim community in Canberra, Al-haj Ashrof Farouk made his remarks stressing the importance of living  in peace and harmony as   encouraged by every  religion.

Lunch was served at the end of the event. Around eighty participants attended this outdoor event.
