Deputy Minister Chathuranga Abeysinghe Visits Custom Denning Facilities in Sydney

Hon. Chathuranga Abeysinghe, Deputy Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development of Sri Lanka, conducted an official tour of Custom Denning’s electric bus manufacturing facility in St Marys, Sydney on 17 August 2026. 

The visit was aimed at observing cutting-edge zero-emission transit technology and discussing potential pathways for industrial collaboration, technology transfer, and advanced manufacturing capabilities. 

Deputy Minister Abeysinghe was accompanied by Mr. Wishwanath Aponsu, Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka. The delegation was received by Custom Denning Managing Director Scott Dunn, Chief Operating Officer Daniel Bale, and Financial Controller Niro Bandara. 

This engagement serves as a direct follow-up to the initial preliminary discussions facilitated by the Sri Lanka High Commission in Canberra during the recent official visit of Hon. Vijith Herath, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment & Tourism in June. 

The engagement underscores growing diplomatic and trade interest between Sri Lanka and Australia.
