High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Canberra meets Hon. Dr. Andrew Charlton, MP, Cabinet Secretary and Assistant Minister for Science, Technology and the Digital Economy

High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Canberra, Yasoja Gunasekera paid a courtesy call on Hon. Dr. Andrew Charlton, MP, Cabinet Secretary and Assistant Minister for Science, Technology and the Digital Economy at the Parliament of Australia on 12th February 2026.

The High Commissioner and Dr. Charlton discussed the bilateral relationship between the two Indian Ocean neighbours, focussing on the potential for cooperation in the digital economy sector. Dr. Charlton is a Member of Parliament representing Parramatta, New South Wales, which is home to a significant South Asian diaspora, including a large Sri Lankan origin community, many of whom are IT professionals.
