Iconic Australian Monuments to be illuminated for Sri Lanka

11 (eleven) iconic Australian National monuments will be illuminated in the colours of Sri Lankan National flag to mark the 75th Anniversary of Sri Lanka’s Independence and the 75th Anniversary of the establishment of Diplomatic relations between Australia and Sri Lanka.

The illumination of iconic monuments will symbolise the enduring multifaceted, mutually respectful partnership between Australia and Sri Lanka. The role and contribution of Sri Lanka’s expatriate community to the ever-flourishing bilateral relations remain of paramount importance.

The Sri Lanka High Commission in Canberra considers the occasion of lighting up iconic monuments in Australia in Sri Lanka flag colours momentous and historic.

The Sri Lanka High Commission sincerely appreciates Australia for this warm gesture.

We invite our fellow Sri Lankans living in Australia to Preserve this historic moment with photography or videography and share it on social media for a chance to win a return trip to Sri Lanka*.
