The Sri Lanka High Commission promoted tourism to Sri Lanka and Ceylon Tea at the National Multicultural Festival which took place from 6-8 February in the heart of Canberra. There was an overwhelming demand for tourism brochures from the visitors to the Sri Lanka High Commission stall, as Sri Lanka is now a popular tourism destination for Australian tourists. There was also a lot of interest amongst the general public in Ceylon tea.
The National Multicultural festival, which is now in it’s 28th year, brings communities from around the world together for three vibrant days of culture, connection and creativity, featuring over 250 food and cultural stalls and hundreds of performances from more than 150 countries, attracting well over 400,000 visitors.
