NOTICE – DELAY IN PAYMENT OF JUNE PENSIONS

A large number of pensioners receiving Sri Lanka Government pensions through the High Commission in Canberra have been excluded from the final list prepared by the Department of Pension for payment of pensions in June 2018.

Upon checking with the Foreign Pension Branch of the Department of Pensions, it was found that the reason behind this move is an administrative formality that has been changed which however, was not informed to the High Commission. Following representations made by the High Commission the Department of Pensions is taking action to rectify it as soon as possible.

The High Commission deeply regrets the delay this has caused in the payment of June Pensions to some recipients in Australia and New Zealand.

It further assures all Pensioners that this issue is being addressed as the first priority and that the Department of Pensions hopes to resolve this issue satisfactorily at the earliest possible.
